Live Music

Alex and Eduardo will be back on Thursday night with their usual eclectic range of acoustic guitar music.... yes, even the Prodigy.

Fun starts around 11pm.

Bassline...

... shooting up my spine!

Went to Bassline v Garage Classics at Es Paradis last night... major disappointment. The music was bland at best and the crowd were quick to empty out. A complete lack of atmosphere. I think the genre has potential but they need to inject some enthusiasm!

Some other notes re: club events this Summer.

Judgement Sunday - Eden - Still busy... why?
Twice as Nice - Eden - Still busy... understandable.
Pete Tong - Eden - Cleaning up on a Friday night
Clubland - Es Paradis - A very very busy night for the new kid in town. Expect to see at Eden next year!
Manumission - Amnesia - Is it still on?
Cream - Amnesia - Packed, popular and pricey!
Tiesto - Privelege - Coming soon
Pacha - Solid as ever every night with the beautiful people
DC10 - Bye Bye!!!

I'm melting!!!

It's well into the 30's now every day here in 'sunny' San Antonio and it's only gonna get hotter.

The Huddle Bar was packed last night for the Euro 2008 final between Spain and Germany. The best team won at the end of a very exciting match. Spain have played the best football of the tournament and are worthy winners.

My pick for team of the Euros....

Goalkeeper - Boruc (Poland)

Defenders - Philipp Lahm (Germany), Carlos Marchena (Spain), Pepe (Portugal), Carles Puyol (Spain)

Midfielders - Luka Modric (Croatia), Marcos Senna (Spain), Michael Ballack (Germany), Cesc Fabregas (Spain)

Forwards: Andrei Arshavin (Russia), David Villa (Spain)

Cheerio to the Hamilton Bhoys... thanks for the shirts!
Welcome to all the new arrivals this week..... there's a lot of you!

Viva España / Ciao Italia

The best team won, though it took a penalty shootout to separate them. there were fireworks and car horns blaring all over San Antonio as the game drew to it's dramatic end. Spain will now play Russia on Thursday whilst Germany take on Turkey the day before.

The exciting news I promised a couple of weeks ago should happen this week.... watch this space!

Weather update - pushing mid 30's all weekend and looking to get hotter.... thank goodness for air-con!!!

Live Music!

The Huddle Bar will be hosting a live music session on Wednesday night after the football. Alex and Eduardo will be playing a wide range of music and anyone who wants to join in will be more than welcome.

Orange Out!

So Holland crashed out of the Euros last night to a well organised Russia..... I didn't see that one coming.

Hellos to all the new arrivals last night... the busiest night in the Huddle so far this Summer. Also was totally surprised to meet up with an old school pal I haven't seen for over 20 years!!!

What a week...

Football, football and more football. Some classic games at the Euros so far. germany seem to have their half of the draw sewn up whereas, on the other side, take your pick from Holland, Italy or Spain.

Welcome to the bar... Coatbridge, Hamilton and the Glesga Provos!

Cheerio Leeds... Apple Sourz and Aftershock will be awaiting your return.

Holland v Russia tonight! Happy Days!

Spain wobble....

..... and so do I!!!!

Well, the second round of group matches is now over and I'm happy..... I get to open at 8pm now instead of 5pm!!!

Holland = Amazing

Not seen football played like that since the Lisbon Lions. Croatia look value for money, Germany can't be ruled out and either France or Spain (or both) will be out very soon. Spain march on but appear much less convincing.... the usual underachievement is beckoning??!!??!!

Hello's to Donegal, Paisley, East Kilbride, Wakefield and Leeds. A special mention for 'sleeping boy'.... see the photo album for more!!!

I'm going for a Sunday Lunch tomorrow.... my 1st proper meal in a week! Happy Days!!

Forza España

The boys in red made a brilliant start to the tournament with a 4-1 demolition of Russia. None more happy then me with a cheeky double on both Spain and Sweden winning at 10/3!!

Welcome to the Stirling Bhoys and Ghirls..... see you tonight for a sing-song. Cheerio to Corby. hail Hail lhads!

Go Orange!!!

After the mind-numbing boredom of the France-Romania game we were treated to an exhibition of real football by Holland and Italy! Cracking game. IF we can get a Holland/Spain final I, for one, would be more than happy!

Hi to Westport, Blackpool and all the lads from Glasgow who are with us at the moment. Nice to see Glasgow Joe back in town too! Hope you've recovered from the 1st night!

Off now to watch Spain v Russia!

Merchandise

The Huddle Bar merchandise range has finally arrived.

Lighters, LED Lighters, Keyrings, Pens and T-Shirts are now in stock.

P.S. the people waiting for your shirts...... they're on the way on Monday!

Euro 2008

Every game will be shown live in the Huddle Bar.

Kick Offs at 6pm and 8.45pm for the first 8 days then all 8.45pm after that.

P.S. I'm supporting Spain..... well, I do live here!!

Sorry for the delay...

... normal service now resumed.

Euro 2008 kicked off this evening with 2 decent games. The Czech Republic overcame a stubborn, if inefficient Swiss side 1-0 followed by Portugals 2-0 defeat of Turkey. The Portuguese look like a quality side at times yet still seem plagued by the 'sniper in the stands' issue that they are infamous for.

Cheerio to the stag partys from Paisley and Bellshill. A pleasure meeting you all.

Welcomes to Nina, Shelly and Gary, Gill And Jules, Dave from Dublin and John who sells the Evening Times outside Queen Street Station.

Welcome back also to Kev and the gang.... and best wishes to Jimmy who's not been well.

Many thanks to Kev and Kelly for the photos.... I'll add them to the website as soon as possible.
